Die Casting
DIE CASTING
Die casting can have consequential advantages over other manufacturing processes, which often lead to major cost savings, not only in the component price itself but withal in the overall cost of production. When you cast a component, you can production involute net shapes, including external threads and involute internal features with minimal draft angles—minimizing secondary operations. You can additionally cumulate multiple components into a single part, eliminating assembly operations and lowering labor costs, with the integrated benefits of simplified stock control and more preponderant component consistency.
Icomi Die Casting
Icomi offers conventional die cast precision components. Our engineers offer design solutions for a variety of industries including automotive, aerospace, machine, power tool, instruments, cameras, healthcare, and more. When our engineers are involved early in the project, they can avail design an implement and part concretely for mass production. All of our customers receive insight and expertise throughout all stages of the project.
What is Die Casting?
Die casting is a manufacturing process in which molten metal is poured or coerced into steel molds. The molds—also kenned as implements or dies—are productioned utilizing steel and are specially designed for each project. This sanctions each component to be productioned with precision and repeatability. Aluminum, zinc, and magnesium are the most commonly used die casting alloys.
Quality Assured:
CNC Machining Service
Aluminum castings are lightweight and able to withstand the highest operating temperatures of all die cast alloys.
Aluminum Alloy Characteristics:
·High operating temperatures
·Outstanding corrosion resistance
·Lightweight
·Very good vigor and hardness
·Good stiffness and vigor-to-weight ratio
·Excellent EMI and RFI shielding properties
·Excellent thermal conductivity
·High electrical conductivity
·Good culminating characteristics
·Full recyclability
Zinc’s high vigor and hardness lends itself to many solutions and it’s the ideal alternative to machined, pressed, stamped, and fabricated components.
Applications for Zinc:
·Complex net-shaped zinc housings, with precise thin walls offer excellent electrical performance and shielding properties
·Our proprietary multi-slide die casting process and superior thin-wall capabilities make us the foremost supplier of zinc components for broad range of consumer electronic contrivances
·The castability of zinc, its wear resistance, and structural integrity make it perfect for the production of the multi-faceted, highly involute shapes utilized in automotive safety and electronics industry
Magnesium is strong, rigid, fully recyclable, and is the ideal alloy for saving weight when you don’t want to sacrifice durability.
Advantages of Magnesium Die Castings:
·Lightest out of all metals utilized for die casting
·Costlier than Aluminum And Zinc Die Casting
·Has good conductivity
·Exceptional Vigor-to-Weight ratio
·Thinner walls can be provided
·Highly reactive and requires adscititious coating for corrosion aegis
·Excellent machinability
·Has good EMI and RFI shielding properties
·Can withstand high temperatures
